Terms of Service
By using the Tastefarer iOS app and related services, you agree to these terms. Read them carefully.
These terms are a contract between you and Spare Time Ventures LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States), which publishes and operates Tastefarer. "Tastefarer", "we" and "us" refer to Spare Time Ventures LLC.
1. The service
Tastefarer is a travel-planning iOS app that learns your taste through onboarding swipes, recommends places and helps you plan trips. Tastefarer doesn't book or pay for anything on your behalf: you book directly with partners (hotels, restaurants, tour operators and booking sites) — see "Bookings" below.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older and able to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction. We ask for your date of birth before creating an account; it stays on your device and is never sent to us. If you book travel for other people, you confirm you have their consent to share their travel details with us.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You may not share your account or impersonate another user.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access at [email protected].
4. Bookings
Tastefarer doesn't make bookings. The app links you to the partner — for example Booking.com, a hotel's own site, Viator, OpenTable, Resy or a restaurant's own booking page — and you book directly with them. The contract for each booking is between you and the partner provider; their terms, cancellation policies, and pricing apply. Tastefarer is not a party to that contract and is not liable for the partner's performance.
When you come back from a partner site, the app may ask whether you completed the booking. Confirming records a local copy of the reservation for your trip itinerary; it does not modify the underlying partner reservation.
5. Pricing and Tastefarer Pro
The Tastefarer app is free to download, and its free tier stays free to use. Travel costs are charged by the partner provider you book through, not by Tastefarer. We may earn affiliate commissions from partners; this never changes the price you pay versus booking direct.
Tastefarer Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks additional features. The features it includes are listed in the app on the Tastefarer Pro screen. The free tier's limits are listed there too, are enforced by the app and our servers, and may change over time.
- Price and period. The price, currency and billing period are shown on the purchase screen before you subscribe, and confirmed by Apple before you're charged. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Free trial. Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the price then in effect, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends. If we change the price, Apple tells you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent before you're charged the new price.
- Managing and cancelling. You manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), or from Profile → Settings → Tastefarer Pro → Manage subscription in the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple. We don't issue refunds ourselves; refund requests go to Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com), under Apple's policies and any rights you have under the law of your country.
- Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription billed by Apple. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings first.
- Tied to your Tastefarer account. Tastefarer Pro belongs to the Tastefarer account you're signed in to: buying or restoring a subscription requires you to be signed in, and Pro applies wherever you sign in to that account.
- Your first trip. We may include Pro features for a trip without a subscription (for example, your first trip). That's a courtesy, not a subscription, and doesn't renew.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate access to the service beyond what the public API exposes.
- Submit content that is defamatory, infringing, hateful, or misleading.
- Interfere with the operation of the service or other users.
7. Content and intellectual property
The app, including its design, code, recommendation algorithms, and editorial content, is the property of Spare Time Ventures LLC and its licensors. You retain ownership of any free-text notes, ratings, or feedback you submit; you grant Spare Time Ventures LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use that content to operate and improve the service. We do not sell your personal content to third parties.
8. Copyright complaints (DMCA)
We respect copyright and respond to notices of claimed infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512). If you believe content on Tastefarer — in the app, on a shared trip page (trips.tastefarer.com), or on tastefarer.com — infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent, Spare Time Ventures LLC
30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States
Email: [email protected] (subject "DMCA notice")
Your notice must include: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed; (3) identification of the material you claim is infringing and where it appears (for example the link or the screen in the app), in enough detail for us to find it; (4) your name, address, telephone number and email address; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (6) a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Counter-notice. If we remove or disable content you posted because of a notice and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can send our agent a counter-notice with: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the material and where it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and telephone number with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice. We may restore the material 10–14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notice unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers. We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe others' copyrights.
Notices that aren't about copyright (for example a wrong opening time or a closed restaurant) get a faster answer through the contact address in section 15.
9. AI-generated recommendations
Tastefarer uses machine-learning models (third-party LLM providers and our own scoring engines) to generate trip recommendations and chat replies. Recommendations are advisory only. Always verify critical details — booking dates, allergens, accessibility, hours, prices — before relying on them. We are not liable for errors in recommendations or AI-generated text. Every assistant reply has a Report button; use it to tell us about a reply that is wrong, unsafe or offensive. The app asks your permission before it first sends your text to an AI provider; see the Privacy Policy.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, or to comply with legal obligations.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties to the extent permitted by law, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spare Time Ventures LLC's total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms or the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you have paid to Tastefarer in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence apply. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction.
14. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be surfaced in the app prior to taking effect, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
